However, I now feel like trying the analog route (with the additional conversion) so I can take advantage of the GuitarPort modeling which I really like better on many sounds. I have stopped using my GuitarPort for modeling because you can't reamp digitally with that device, so I only use plugins when mixing. So padded cables, consciously made in advance (or the dreaded Reamp Box) are a must. It always worked, and still works, very well. It seems logical to me that it's better off leaving it digital to avoid the additional AD/DA conversion in the POD, but Jeff seems to still like the sound with the additional conversion.right Jeff? For sure, people have been connecting Line Outputs directly to instrument amplifier for ages without the need for any device, just a cable with the right connectors. That goes through the reamp into your normal guitar chain. Measuring roughly four inches long by two inches wide and 1 3/4 inches tall, this compact, powder-coated 16-gauge steel box is well designed and laid out. ![]() This allows you to send a direct clean signal off of your computer, Huart says. If you already own a DI box or just need a simplified reamping solution, the Reamp HP has you covered. But my question to Jeff was, if he is reamping through a digital device (like the POD) and NOT introducing any other analog gear into the signal path, does he still like the sound better using the analog ins/outs on the POD vs. All reamps take a balanced line-level signal from either a mixer or an interface and make it into an unbalanced instrument-level signal that can be handled by a guitar amp. If you then want to route the signal through other analog, outboard gear, then obviously the analog route is the only (and better) way to go. We are talking about reamping, so I'm assuming you already recorded a direct guitar signal routed through whatever nice, fat, analog preamp or direct box you want, and then into your computer via your premium sound card/converters. If reamping a guitar track to a guit amp, line level into the amp will add overdrive like a guitar dist pedal does and the imp mismatch will change the tone. recording directly into the DAW via the AD? Or are you referring to analog processors like compressors, choruses, and eqs? Reamp box takes line level low imp and changes it to inst level high impedance. Reamp® devices convert a balanced line-level signal to a high impedance instrument-level output, allowing you to take any previously recorded track and play it back through various. The Reamp® HP is housed in one of the company’s petite 1.35 x 4.5 x 1.85 StageBug-sized enclosures. The Radial X-Amp is a dual output class-A active Reamper that lets you take a pre-recorded track and send it through amps and pedals without noise. While not too far removed from the also reasonably-priced and straightforward Radial ProRMP, there are a few significant differences. ![]() Are you asking about using a quality preamp vs. The Reamp HP is the most compact, affordable and simplest Radial Reamp® device to date.
